    Hello, everyone!

    Gung Hey Fat Choy!

Today (January 31st) is Chinese New Years! Chinese people from around the world celebrate this day! Families will get together and enjoy a big feast together. Many people like to wear red, and parades will lion dancing and firecrackers are on full display.

Chinese New Year has its own Chinese zodiac, in which there are 12 different animals that are represented. This year is the Year of the Horse. People born under the horse sign are cheerful, clever and popular. However, they can be hot-tempered and impatient. Actually, I am a horse.

What Chinese zodiac animal are you?

Have a great weekend and see you next week!

    Until next time!

    Hello, everyone!

This week, I had to chance to do introduction lessons so I can meet and teach the 3rd graders for the first time. One thing I love about doing an introduction lesson is the interesting questions I get from curious students. I want to list the top three most interesting questions I was asked during the time. Also, I will include my answer to each question.

    So, here they are...

    3.)
"Who is the most beautiful person in the class?"
    - Me.

    2.)
    "Are you God?"
    - Yes, I am.

    1.)
"What is the most important thing in your life?"
    - Happniess. I believe being happy is very important. It doesn't matter how small or big the situation is (being with friends, playing sports or music, getting good grades, eating good food, finding the correct answer, etc.) - if you are happy, you will feel good inside.

(Of course, I am joking around with the 2nd and 3rd answers.)

I am looking forward to teach the 3rd graders in the next couple of months!

    Until next time!

    Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope all of you had a great winter break! What did you do?

For me, I did a little travelling. I went to Tokyo and Niigata for a few days. In Tokyo, I visited the Tokyo Sky Tree. It was really cool to see the aerial view of Tokyo at night! In Niigata, I went to see my friend and her family. Also, it was my first time visiting Niigata. I ate a lot of delicious food! I was very full by the time I came back to Osaka!

Now, it's the start of the 3rd semester. I hope all of you do your best in the next couple of months!

    Until next time!

    Hello, everyone!

This should be my last blog entry before the winter break. Let me tell you about how I celebrate the winter holidays back home in Canada.

Christmas is a big holiday in many parts of the world. Although it is a Christian holiday and my family is not Christian, we would still celebrate the holiday because we celebrate its importance of giving to others and being together with family. My house would be decorated with Christmas lights outside and a big Christmas tree inside. We would give presents to other family members and friends. Dinner was always great as my family would have turkey, roast beef, potatoes, salad, etc. and it was always a big feast.

On New Year's Day, friends will gather together and count down the seconds before we ring in the new year. To be honest - other than that, my family would just enjoy spending the day together. We don't have any traditions like how the Japanese celebrate the new year.

I wish all of you a safe and happy holidays! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I look forward to seeing you again in 2014 (... or next Wednesday)!
