5/27May 27th Japanese traditional culture is very peaceful. Yesterday I participated in a tea ceremony. It was really interesting. Everything looked so graceful and stylish. The tea maker really knew how to mix the tea professionally. I didn’t know what to say or do, but the students helped me out. I ate beautiful candy and sat in the “seiza” position for what felt like hours (but was actually just a few minutes). Afterwards my feet hurt a lot, but I had fun, so it was alright. Do you participate in tea ceremonies sometimes? Do you enjoy it?
5/25May 24th I often walk around Osaka castle on the weekends. The park is very big and sometimes there are interesting events. Last weekend I saw a Thai festival. Do you know about the cat that lives outside Osaka castle? He’s brown and very fat. Every time I see him, he’s lying down on the grass and not doing anything. I think he likes to steal food from people on picnics around the park so now he’s become really big. I decided to name him Hideyoshi after the famous general who lived in the castle a few hundred years ago. If you visit the castle, you should go see him. He’s very cute. |
