本校、１年生の岡田光平さんがＵ１２ベースボールワールドカップ出場選手１８名の中に選ばれました。プロ野球でも活躍した仁志敏久氏が監督で、Ｕ１２侍ＪＡＰＡＮを編成します。
９日間、国内で強化合宿を行ったあと、台湾で７月２８日(金)〜８月６日(日)の１０日間の日程で１２か国・地域が出場の世界大会が行われます。

岡田光平さんのＵ１２ワールドカップへの意気込み
「僕は、常に周りの人たちのありがたみをしっかり感じてプレーをします。バッティングの時、守備の時、そして野球をおもいっきい楽しみたいです。東生野中学校の代表としてしっかり活躍し、世界一になります。」

天の川に輝く琴座のベガが織姫（織女星）で、鷲座のアルタイルが彦星（牽牛星）。
この2つの星と白鳥座のデネブを結んだものが「夏の大三角形」と呼ばれ、夏の星座を探す目印になっているそうです。

今年も南側道路に面した校舎の壁を利用して、ゴーヤを育てています。
管理作業員さんが、毎日水をからさないように世話をしてくれてます。感謝!

近所の花屋さんの話では「今年は、夜の気温がさほど高くないため、ゴーヤの成長が悪い」とおっしゃっていました。

そういえば、夏本番の日差しを感じる日は少ない感じがしますね。

7-4 Journal – Independence Day!
　Happy American Independence Day, everyone! Did you know today is the American Independence Day? America declared its independence from Great Britain (now called the United Kingdom) on July 4th, 1776. Since then, every year it is celebrated as a national holiday. Many adults do not have to work and there are usually parades and parties. Can you think of any Japanese national holidays like this? (Students don’t have to go to school because they are already on summer vacation. It started in May!)
　On July 4th in America people usually get together with friends and have BBQs and shoot fireworks. Some cities do not allow people to shoot fireworks at their houses because there is a fire danger. In most cities there are professional fireworks shows that everyone can go see at night with their friends and families. It is very fun and exciting to see! Are there any big fireworks shows here in Osaka? I know about one that I will go see with my friends this summer . . . :)
