Good morning, everyone! Jambo!

On February 4th, we held a special exchange program between Yusato Elementary School, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, and distinguished African artists.

First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our esteemed guests:
• His Excellency Mr. Moi LEMOSHIRA, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, for honoring us with his presence.
• Dr. Masataka Kan, President of Osaka Jonan Women’s Junior College, for generously providing us with this wonderful venue, the Sakagami Memorial Hall.
• Mr. Tetsuya Fujiwara, Administrator of Higashisumiyoshi Ward, for representing our local community and joining us that day.

As part of the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 exchange program, we have been deepening our understanding of Africa, particularly Kenya, since last April 2024. The event had been a truly valuable opportunity for us to experience the beauty of Kenyan culture through music and dance.

The word “Jambo” carries more than just a simple greeting—it expresses joy in meeting others and a heartfelt desire to connect. This warm spirit fosters bonds between people and brings us together.

So at the conclusion of the event, we all sang “Jambo Bwana” together, sharing our appreciation for one another and strengthening our connections.

I sincerely hope that this encounter marks the beginning of new friendships and deeper ties. Through music and dance, we were able to fully embrace the joy of cultural exchange and spend a truly unforgettable time together.

Asante sana! Thank you very much.
