Only 3 Days Until Our 50th Anniversary Sports Day!

～ Dancing Together, Connecting Hearts! ～

Only three days remain until our school’s 50th Anniversary Sports Day on Saturday, October 17!

The grand finale will be “Let’s Dance Together,” a special performance by all our students.

This dance was inspired by “Nyatiti Soran,” created by Anyango, a musician who plays the nyatiti, a traditional Kenyan instrument. We have also included elements of Japanese Bon Odori, a traditional community dance in which everyone repeats the same movements. The result is a unique performance that brings Japanese and Kenyan cultures together in the spirit of Yuzato Elementary School.

During rehearsals, students from all grades have been dancing together with energy, smiles, and a wonderful sense of unity. On Sports Day, parents and community members will also be invited to join the dance!

We hope to carry forward the connections built over the past 50 years, creating an even wider circle of friendship for the future.

In Japan, Sports Day has long been a cherished autumn school event. It is a special occasion when children work together, challenge themselves, and share joyful moments with their families and local communities.

We also hope to share our Sports Day with our friends at Calvary Learning Centre (CLC) in Kenya, with whom we continue to build a wonderful friendship.

From Osaka to Kenya, and out into the world.
