本校に１週間に各学級１時間ずつ、大阪市外国人英語指導員（City-Native English Teacherと呼び、C-NETと略称）としてウェイン・ダム先生が来られています。
　自己紹介を英文で書いているので、訳してみよう。

「Hi Japan!」
　My name is Wayne Dam and I’m from California. I’m 34 years old. I came to Japan in 2012 because I really like Japan. I don’t have any brother or sisters, so I want to make a lot of friends. Let’s practice English and be friends!
　The people in Japan are very nice and I really like Japanese food; especially Japanese snacks and desserts. My favorite dessert is shiratama zenzai and my favorite snack is potato chips. I also love to travel. My dream is to travel to every prefecture in Japan and eat the best local food. I have only been to Kyoto, Wakayama, and Okinawa. I want to travel more! My hobbies include taking care of my aquarium, watching movies, traveling, gardening, and Monster Strike!!
　This is my first time teaching at a public school and I’m really enjoying the experience. The students like to speak English and enjoy having conversations; especially the elementary school students. I really like playing sports with the students.
　I like Japan so much that I want to live here forever! There are so many things to enjoy in Japan. One of my favorite things to enjoy is going to the onsen. I wish I have time to enjoy them all. But I think the best thing about Japan is the people. The people makes Japan so unique and a great place to live.

「こんにちは、日本のみなさん。」
　私の名前はウェイン・ダムといいます。カリフォルニア出身で34歳です。私は日本が本当に好きで、2012年日本にやってきました。
私には兄弟がいないので、たくさんの友達を作りたいと思っています。英語を一緒に勉強して友達になりましょう。
　日本の人たちはとても素敵で、また私は日本の食べ物がとても好きです。特に日本のお菓子やデザートが好きです。お菓子と言えば、ポテトチップス、デザートと言えば、白玉ぜんざいが大好物です。ほかにも旅行することもとても好きです。私の夢は日本の都道府県すべてを旅行し、その地域の名物を食べることです。私はまだ京都、和歌山と沖縄にしか行ったことがないので、もっといろんなところに旅行に行きたいと思っています。私の趣味は水槽の世話をすることや、映画を見ること、旅行すること、ガーデニングやモンスターストライクをすることです。
　今回初めて公立学校で教えることになり、この経験を本当に楽しんでいます。生徒たちは英語を話すことが好きで会話を楽しんでいます。特に小学生はとても喜んでいます。私は生徒たちと一緒に体を動かして遊ぶことが大好きです。
　私はここにずっと住み続けたいぐらい日本が好きです。日本にはたくさん楽しいことがあります。その一つは温泉に行くことですが、私はそれら全部を楽しむ時間があればいいなと思っています。しかし日本の一番の良いところはやはり日本の人たちだと思います。日本の人たちが日本という国をこんなにもユニークな国にし、住むのにはとてもすばらしい場所にしています。
