It’s very hot now and I want to use the air conditioner all the time, but it can be very expensive. In Japan there is usually one air conditioner for a room, but in the USA there is usually one air conditioner for the whole house. It’s very big and delivers air to each room with pipes. This is called “central air conditioning.” So the whole house is always the same temperature. You don’t have to turn the air conditioner on and off when you enter or leave a room. I think energy is less expensive in the USA as well. In n Japan I have to stay in one room to stay cool, but in the USA I can go anywhere in the house and be comfortable. I sometimes miss central air-conditioning.
