　Above are pictures of my house. From the front, it looks like it is two floors tall. But if you go in the back, you can see that it is actually three. One floor is underground, it is called a basement. A basement is a floor of a house that is under the ground. In America, many houses have basements. Some people use the basement for storage. Other houses, like mine, have bedrooms in the basement. My room at home was in the basement. I didn’t have any windows in my room and it was very dark. It didn’t bother me though, because the basement is the safest place to be if a tornado comes
