始業式の校長先生のお話です。
校長先生宛の年賀状を紹介されました。
この年賀状は校長先生が小学生の時の担任の先生からいただいたものだそうです。校長先生は小学校時代の思い出をお話されました。お正月に一年の目標をたて、一生懸命やりすぎて体調を崩したという経験。その時に担任の先生からいただいた言葉が「一歩一歩　常に休むことなく　前進せよ」でした。一生懸命取り組むことはもちろん大切ですが、同じように続けていくことの大切さを学びましたと話されました。みなさんも、年頭に立てた目標を続ける努力をしてくださいと話されました。

The principal spoke at the opening ceremony.
He introduced a New Year's card that was addressed to him.
The principal said that this New Year's card was given to him by his homeroom teacher when he was in elementary school. The principal talked about a memory from his time in elementary school. He remembered setting goals for the year over New Year's, but trying too hard made him sick. The words his homeroom teacher gave him at that time were, "Step by step, always move forward without taking a break." He said that while it is of course important to work hard, he learned the importance of perseverance in the same way. He encouraged everyone to make an effort to continue with the goals they set at the beginning of the year.
