文化活動発表会の余韻が冷めやらぬまま、次なる焦点は体育大会です。
今日から、運動場では体育大会に向けての練習が始まりました。

Even as the atmosphere from the Cultural Festival is still settling, attention has already shifted to the Sports Day.
Practice for the Sports Day started on the field today.

昨日の全校集会は、体育館に凛とした緊張感が漂う中で始まりました。
まず、全校生徒の前に立ったのは前期生徒会執行部。彼女たちの挨拶には、やり遂げた清々しさと名残惜しさが入り混じり、深々としたお辞儀に一年間の重みが詰まっていました。
次に、後期生徒会執行部と学年代表の認証式。校長先生から認証状が手渡される瞬間は、まさに学校のバトンが渡された瞬間でした。
最後は、理科研究発表の表彰。賞状を受け取る生徒たちの顔には、地道な努力と発見の喜びが満ち溢れていました。

Yesterday's school assembly began in the gymnasium, filled with a solemn atmosphere of tension.
First to stand before the entire student body was the former Student Council Executive Committee. Their farewell address was a mix of the satisfaction of accomplishment and a sense of wistfulness, and their deep bow conveyed the weight of the past year.
Next was the Investiture Ceremony for the new Student Council Executive Committee and class representatives. The moment the principal handed over the certificates of appointment was literally the moment the school's baton was passed.

第41回文化発表会の舞台発表のフィナーレを飾ったのは、3年生による演目「あの花が咲く丘で、君とまた出会えたら」です。
この演目は、生徒たちが3年間取り組んできた平和学習の集大成であり、最高学年としての強いメッセージが込められています。物語は、現代を生きる少女が戦時中にタイムスリップするという設定で展開し、生徒たちは、この少女の目を通して、平和の大切さと命の重みを観客全員に伝えました。出演者たちは、役柄の感情を深く理解し、熱のこもった大変すばらしい演技でステージに臨みました。観客は、その熱演を通じて、平和への願い、そして今を生きる喜びを再確認することができました。
緊張感と感動に包まれたステージは、3年生一人ひとりが心を込めて作り上げたものであり、文化発表会のフィナーレにふさわしい、力強く、心に響く発表となりました。

The finale of the 41st Culture Festival stage performances was the third-year students' play, titled "If I Could Meet You Again on the Hill Where That Flower Blooms."
This performance served as the culmination of the three years of peace studies the students had undertaken, carrying a powerful message from the senior class. The story unfolds as a modern-day girl time-slips into the wartime period. Through the eyes of this girl, the students conveyed the importance of peace and the weight of life to the entire audience. The performers deeply understood their roles' emotions and took the stage with incredibly moving and passionate acting. Through their powerful performance, the audience was able to reaffirm their desire for peace and the joy of living in the present.
The stage, filled with tension and profound emotion, was a work of passion crafted by every single third-year student, providing a powerful and deeply resonating presentation fitting for the Culture Festival's grand finale.

2年生の舞台発表では、学年全体合唱として「大切なもの」が披露されました。
この発表は、学年テーマである「大切なもの」という目標を表現するものです。生徒たちは、歌の歌詞にあるように「今この時に出会った仲間を大切に」という強い思いを込めて歌い上げました。男女の美しいハーモニーが重なり合い、2年生の団結の力を示す、心に残るパフォーマンスとなりました。

The stage performance by the second-year students featured a grade-wide chorus of the song "Taisetsu na Mono" (Something Important).
This performance was a musical expression of the grade-level theme, which is also "Taisetsu na Mono." The students sang with the powerful sentiment, taken directly from the lyrics, to "cherish the friends we meet right now at this moment." The blending of beautiful male and female harmonies resulted in a memorable performance that clearly demonstrated the strength of unity among the second-year students.

1年生の舞台発表では、クラス合唱が行われました。
中学校に入学して初めての大きな舞台で、1年生の3クラスはそれぞれ異なる曲を選び、3部合唱に挑戦しました。披露された課題曲は、1組が「カリブ 夢の旅」、2組が「マイバラード」、そして3組が「Believe」です。「曲も声も違うけれど、届けたい気持ちはひとつ」という目標のもと、各クラスが指揮者、伴奏者とともに熱心に練習を重ねてきました。緊張感のなかにも、心を重ねた歌声が体育館いっぱいに響き渡り、初々しくも力強いハーモニーで聴衆を魅了しました。

The first-year students' stage performance featured a class chorus competition.
For their first big stage since entering junior high school, the three first-year classes each selected a different song and took on the challenge of a three-part chorus. The assigned pieces performed were "Karibu Yume no Tabi" by Class 1, "My Ballad" by Class 2, and "Believe" by Class 3. Guided by the goal that "Even if our voices and songs are different, our desire to deliver our feelings is one," each class diligently practiced with their conductors and accompanists. Despite the palpable tension, their heartfelt voices resonated throughout the gymnasium, captivating the audience with a fresh yet powerful harmony.

第41回文化発表会の舞台発表は、生徒会による活動報告と吹奏楽部の活気ある演奏で幕を開けました。吹奏楽部の部員たちは、アニメのオープニング曲や流行りの楽曲に加え、バラードやメドレーなど、計7曲を披露しました。今年も聴衆に楽しんでいただくために趣向を凝らした選曲で、体育館いっぱいに響き渡った「アンコール！」の声とその演奏が、文化発表会全体を盛り上げる素晴らしいオープニングとなりました。

The stage performances at the 41st Culture Festival kicked off with a report on activities by the student council and a dynamic performance by the brass band. The brass band members performed a total of seven songs, including anime opening themes, popular tunes, ballads, and medleys. With a meticulously planned selection of music designed to entertain the audience this year, the performance—met with loud calls of "Encore!" echoing throughout the gymnasium—served as a magnificent opening that elevated the entire Culture Festival.

昨日は、午前中に1年生、午後に保護者を対象とした展示見学が開催されました。
会場には、各学年や教科、部活動で工夫を凝らした力作が所狭しと並び、多くの来場者で賑わいました。
また、明日の舞台発表に向けて、今日も朝早くから2年生が会場準備を手伝ってくれました。ありがとう！

Yesterday, we had an exhibition viewing. First-year students attended in the morning, and guardians in the afternoon.
The venue was filled with impressive and creative works from every grade, subject, and club, attracting a large number of visitors.
In preparation for tomorrow's stage performances, our second-year students came in bright and early again today to help set up the venue. Thank you so much!

廊下に響く吹奏楽部の美しい演奏に誘われて、練習にお邪魔しました。
普段は気迫のこもった表情で練習に臨んでいる吹奏楽部の生徒たちですが、どうやら観客がいると少し緊張してしまうようです。それでも、顧問の先生や仲間と真剣に音を重ねる姿は、とても立派でした。

Drawn in by the beautiful music echoing from the hallway, I dropped in on the brass band club's practice session.
Although they usually approach practice with great spirit, the students in the brass band seemed to get a little nervous with an audience. Nevertheless, their dedication to perfecting their music alongside their teacher and fellow members was truly impressive.

文化発表会に向けた展示準備がすべて整いました。生徒たちが日々の学習や活動で取り組んできた成果を、学年や教科、部活動ごとに展示しています。
明日9月24日(水)は、1年生が午前中に展示を見学し、午後は保護者の皆様に公開いたします。明後日9月25日(木)は、2・3年生が見学を行います。
生徒たちの熱意がこもった力作を、ぜひご覧ください。

The exhibits for our school's cultural festival are all set up. Students have put their daily learning and club activities on display, with exhibits organized by grade, subject, and club.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24, first-year students will view the exhibits in the morning, and the displays will be open to parents in the afternoon. The day after tomorrow, Thursday, September 25, second and third-year students will have their turn to see the exhibits.

「蹴る」「捕る」「投げる」「走る」といった、野球やソフトボールの基本的な動作を簡単に経験できるため、全身を使った運動能力を効率的に養うことができます。
ルールがシンプルで、特別な道具もほとんど必要ありません。
また、バットでボールを打つのが苦手でも、キックなら誰でも参加しやすく、運動が苦手な生徒でも楽しめます。そのため、協力性や連帯感を育む良い機会となります。

This sport allows students to easily experience basic baseball and softball actions like kicking, catching, throwing, and running, helping them efficiently develop full-body athletic abilities.
The rules are simple and it requires very little special equipment.
It's also easy for anyone to participate since kicking a ball is less intimidating than batting, which allows students who are not good at sports to enjoy it as well. Therefore, it's a great opportunity to foster a sense of cooperation and unity.

校内研究授業として、ベテラン教員による「命の大切さ」をテーマにした授業が公開されました。
この授業では、映像を視聴した後、登場人物の行動を深く掘り下げる核心的な問いから、生徒自身の経験と結びつける自分事としての問いへと段階的に思考を促すことで、映像の背景にある深いメッセージを読み取る力を養いました。
先生の「何が正解というわけではない」「間違ってもいいんだ」という温かい言葉かけは、生徒が安心して自身の考えを表現できる安全な場(心理的安全性)を作り上げていました。
さらに、「どんなにつらいことがあっても、ぜひ相談してほしい」「実はこの世界は楽しいんだ」「人生の先輩として、追い越し(先に死ぬことは)禁止」といったメッセージは、生徒一人ひとりの心に寄り添う、温かく力強い言葉として深く響きました。

As part of an in-school research lesson, a veteran teacher conducted a class on the "importance of life."
The lesson strategically used a video, prompting students to think progressively from "core questions" about the characters' actions to more "personal questions" that connected with their own lives.
This approach successfully fostered their ability to grasp the deeper messages behind the video.
The teacher's warm encouragement, such as "There's no single right answer" and "It's okay to be wrong," created a safe space (psychological safety) where students felt secure expressing their own ideas.
Moreover, the teacher's messages—like "No matter how tough things get, please talk to me," "This world is actually fun," and "As your senior in life, I forbid you from overtaking me (dying before me)"—were warm and powerful words that resonated deeply with each student.

英語の授業で、生徒たちは絶滅危惧動物の現状について伝えるためのプレゼンテーション資料を各自で作成していました。仲間と相談したり、生成AIを活用して内容を確認したりしながら、熱心に取り組んでいました。

During English class, the students were each creating presentation materials to talk about the current status of endangered animals. They were diligently working on their projects, consulting with their classmates and even using generative AI to check their work.

美術の時間に、3年生の生徒たちが黒い丸皿に貝を貼り付け、デザインしていく螺鈿(らでん)の制作に取り組んでいました。
中には、端末を使ってデザインのヒントを探している生徒もいました。

In art class, the third-year students were working on raden, a traditional craft where they apply shell patterns to black lacquerware plates. Some students were even using their devices to find inspiration for their designs.

先日、講師や若手教員を対象とした授業観察が行われ、総合教育センターからお招きしたアドバイザーより指導助言をいただきました。

We recently had a class observation for our lecturers and junior teachers. An advisor from the General Education Center was invited to provide us with guidance and advice.

役員や各委員会の実行委員たちが集まり、情報交換が行われる中、特別な時間が訪れました。
7月に行われた区PTAバレーボール大会では、見事優勝！優勝チームのメンバーに、勝利の証である表彰状が手渡されました。
忙しい日常の合間に集ったPTAメンバーが、一つの目標に向かって努力し、喜びを分かち合った、そんな温かいひとときでした。

A special time came while the executives and executive committee members of each committee gathered and exchanged information.
In the ward PTA volleyball tournament held in July, he won the championship! The members of the winning team were given a certificate of commendation, which is a proof of victory.
It was such a warm moment when the PTA members gathered in between their busy daily lives and worked hard towards one goal and shared their joy.

畳の匂い、抹茶の香り、かすかに聞こえる水の音。五感が研ぎ澄まされていく。
指先の角度、腕の上げ方、目線の位置。練習の成果が、少しずつ身についてきたようです。

The scent of tatami, the aroma of matcha, and the faint sound of water sharpen my senses.
The angle of my fingertips, the raising of my arms, the position of my gaze. The fruits of my practice seem to be gradually taking hold.

今日の全校集会では、校長先生から公共交通機関でのマナーの重要性と、守るべき基本的なマナーについてのお話がありました。
また、今日で実習が最後となる教育実習生が、生徒たちに挨拶をしました。

At today's school-wide assembly, the principal spoke about the importance of good manners on public transportation and the basic rules everyone should follow.
Additionally, the student teacher whose practicum ends today gave a farewell speech to the students.

包丁を握る手に少し緊張が走ります。中学2年生の調理実習、メニューはみそ汁とサラダ。
きゅうりを切る生徒は、先生の「猫の手で」という教えを思い出し、ぎこちない手つきで挑戦していました。
分厚い輪切りになったり、やたらと薄くなったりするきゅうり。それでも、みんなで協力して作ったみそ汁と、形は不揃いだけど愛嬌たっぷりのサラダが完成しました。
自分たちで作った料理は、なぜだか特別においしく感じられるものです。

My hands feel a little tense as I hold the knife. It's a second-year junior high school cooking class, and the menu is miso soup and salad.
The student in charge of the cucumbers remembers the teacher's advice to use a "cat's paw" grip and tries to slice with clumsy hands.
The cucumbers end up in thick rounds or surprisingly thin slices. Still, they complete the miso soup with everyone's help, along with a charmingly uneven salad.
Food you make yourself always seems to taste especially good.

放課後の教室に絵の具の匂いが広がる中、1年生たちが大きな布を囲んで学級旗を制作しています。
そこにはクラスのスローガンや個性豊かなイラストが描かれています。
筆跡は拙いものの、そこには間違いなく、クラスの団結心が込められています。

In the after-school classroom, the smell of paint fills the air as first-year students gather around a large cloth, making their class flag.
The flag features their class slogan and unique illustrations. Although the brushwork is a bit clumsy,
it's clear the flag embodies their class spirit and unity.

金曜日の6時間目に、体育館で後期生徒会の立会演説会が行われました。
会長、副会長、執行部に立候補した生徒たちが、より良い学校を創るための熱い思いを語りました。

On Friday during the sixth period, the student council election speeches for the second semester were held in the gymnasium. Students who ran for president, vice president, and executive committee shared their passionate ideas for creating a better school.
