　トマトは、なすやじゃがいもと同じナス科の植物です。ハウス栽培の普及により、一年中出回っていますが、旬（たくさん収穫できて、おいしい時期）は、夏です。熊本県や北海道、愛知県で多く収穫されます。

Major production areas include Kumamoto, Hokkaido, and Aichi prefectures.
