School-wide Assembly via Broadcast (Reflecting on Setsubun and the International Day of Human Fraternity)
This week, in consideration of students’ health conditions, we held a school-wide assembly by broadcast rather than gathering in one place.
In the principal’s talk, he explained that Setsubun means “the day that marks the dividing point between seasons.”
He also compared the “demons” driven away by bean-throwing to the worries and uneasiness we may feel inside—our personal “cloudiness.” Students were encouraged not to carry such feelings alone, but to talk with close friends, family members, or teachers so that their hearts can feel a little lighter.
He also introduced that February 4 is observed around the world as the International Day of Human Fraternity, a day to reaffirm the importance of respecting and supporting one another across differences in religion and culture.
Finally, as entrance examinations for third-year students begin next week, we shared our support with the entire school and reminded everyone to take good care of their health—getting enough sleep, eating breakfast, and washing hands carefully—so they can face the exams in a calm and steady condition.

The winter morning sky was filled with clouds, and the quiet flight of birds left a lasting impression.
