北棱中学校举行下届学生会干部竞选演讲会及选举

今天第六节课，学校举行了选出下届学生会干部的竞选演讲会。

各位候选人用自己的语言，讲述了想把学校建设成什么样子的心愿。虽然神情略显紧张，但大家都努力把想法传达给台下的全体同学，演讲十分出色。

担任助选演讲的同学们也在全校同学面前落落大方地讲述了推荐的理由。正因为熟悉候选人平日的样子，他们的话语格外真切，台下不少同学边听边点头。

演讲中，有几位同学用到了"明天还想来的学校"这句话。校长平时常挂在嘴边的这句话，被同学们当作自己的目标说了出来，让校长忍不住露出了笑容。

学生会干部的工作，并不只有主持活动等站在台前的显眼场面。每天的问候运动、每日午餐时间的午间音乐广播等，还有许多支撑校园生活的踏实工作和幕后工作。

对主动举手、愿意承担这些职责的候选人，以及为支持伙伴而站到台前的助选演讲同学们，我们致以衷心的敬意。

选举结果预定于星期一公布。

Student Council Election Speeches and Vote

During sixth period today, pupils gathered for the election speeches to choose next year's Student Council officers.

Each candidate spoke in their own words about the kind of school they hope to help build. Nerves were visible on a few faces, yet every speaker made a real effort to reach the whole school, and the speeches were impressive.

The pupils giving supporting speeches also stood up confidently in front of everyone to explain why they were backing their candidate. Their words carried the warmth of friends who know the candidates well, and many in the audience could be seen nodding along.

Several pupils used the phrase "a school you want to come back to tomorrow" in their speeches. Hearing words the Headteacher so often repeats being taken up as the pupils' own goal was a moment that brought a quiet smile to the Head's face.

The Student Council's work is not only about leading events and being in the spotlight. There is a great deal of steady, behind-the-scenes work as well, from the daily morning greetings campaign to the Lunchtime Music broadcast every day.

To all the candidates who put themselves forward to take on these roles, and to the supporters who stood up for their friends, we offer our sincere respect.

The results of the election will be announced on Monday.
