Today’s menu was:
・Chicken Grilled with Yuzu Salt
・Soki-jiru (Okinawan Pork Rib Soup)
・Tuna–Soybean Soboro (Seasoned Crumble)
・Steamed Rice
・Milk
For the first lunch of October, the menu offered plenty of animal protein—just right for refueling bodies after sports day practice.
The highlight was the soki-jiru: rich pork belly flavor balanced by the natural sweetness of vegetables, making for an outstanding bowl.
Note: In Okinawan dialect, soki refers to pork rib meat, especially spare ribs with cartilage. The word is said to trace back to a term related to “combing,” inspired by the rib bones’ resemblance to a comb.
In Class 1-1, students served quickly and enjoyed their meal together.
