Preparing for the School Trip — Year 9 Students Decide Seating and Room Arrangements Through Discussion
During Period 6 on Monday 27 April, Year 9 classrooms were buzzing with preparations for the upcoming school trip. The task of the day was to decide bus seating and room assignments for the first night at the hotel.
Written boldly on the blackboard were the words "Consideration for others" and "Let's make this a school trip everyone enjoys!" Each class took a slightly different approach — some gathered around a seating chart pinned to the board, while others moved about the room chatting and checking in with one another. What every classroom had in common, however, was a genuine effort to ensure that no one would be left feeling unhappy.
Throughout the discussions, students could be seen thinking not only about their own preferences but also paying attention to how their friends felt, working together to find arrangements everyone could be comfortable with. Watching them exchange ideas with smiles, make compromises, and reach agreements was a reminder of the strong classroom relationships they have built over time.
Preparations for the school trip will now move into full swing. With thoughtfulness and consideration as our starting point, the whole school is committed to making this a trip that every student can truly enjoy.
