Looking Ahead to the School Trip — Third-Year Grade Assembly
With the school trip drawing near, the third-year students gathered for a grade assembly. It was an important session for pre-trip learning and final checks.
In the first half of the assembly, members of the executive committee shared the rules and guidelines for the trip. They explained the spending limits for pocket money, snacks, and souvenirs in their own words, addressing the whole grade directly. "The limit is just a ceiling — you don't have to spend it all. How you choose to use your money is part of the learning, too," they reminded their classmates, encouraging everyone to think and act for themselves.
Next, a teacher introduced Hida-Takayama, one of the destinations on the itinerary. Surrounded by mountains, the town grew as people built their lives within its sheltered valleys, and streetscapes dating back to the Edo period still remain intact today. The Miyagawa morning market, Takayama Jin'ya, and Nakabashi Bridge; local flavors such as Takayama ramen, mitarashi dango, and gohei-mochi; traditional crafts including the beloved Sarubobo dolls — students watched intently as photo after photo appeared on the screen.
In the time that followed, each group gathered around their maps to plan walking routes. Opening the maps on their Chromebooks, students dropped pins as they talked: "Let's go here," "I want to try this." Walking through a town of deep history with their own feet, seeing it with their own eyes, tasting its flavors for themselves — preparations of this quiet, thoughtful kind unfolded in every corner of the classroom.
With some time still remaining before the trip, we hope students will take good care of their health and look forward to the day with excitement. To our families, thank you in advance for your support with packing and preparations. The entire faculty will continue working carefully so that students can deepen their learning with peace of mind.
