Year 7: First Subject Lessons Are Underway
On Monday, April 14, during the third period, subject lessons officially began in each Year 7 classroom. For some classes, it was their very first time meeting a particular teacher and subject — and you could feel a gentle buzz of excitement mixed with just the right amount of first-day nerves.
In one classroom, a teacher used the interactive whiteboard to introduce herself, sharing her favorite music and hobbies. The moment her personal interests came up, students' faces lit up and laughter filled the room. In another class, a geography lesson was already in full swing, with students poring over atlases and reference materials. Meanwhile, a home economics class kicked off with an orientation on "Consumer Life and the Environment," where students followed along with slides about the SDGs and jotted down notes on their worksheets.
One thing every classroom had in common was a warm, friendly atmosphere beneath that hint of new-term nervousness. Students raised their hands to answer questions, exchanged smiles with their neighbors, and began finding their footing in the rhythm of secondary school learning.
There is much more to explore in every subject as the year unfolds. We hope families will take a moment at home to ask, "What did you learn today?" — it is a small question that can spark wonderful conversations.
