Response to Infectious Illnesses in Grade 2
This is the morning arrival scene.
Students came to school as usual, greeting each other with cheerful “Good morning.”
At the school gate, we also saw students chatting with friends and heading to their classrooms.
Grade 2 has returned to school following the end of class closures due to influenza.
However, starting today, an increasing number of Grade 2 students have been absent with cold-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and sore throat (not limited to influenza).
In light of this situation, and based on advice from the school physician, we will prioritize reducing “contact time” and “opportunities for crowding,” and implement the following measures to help prevent further spread.
【School Measures (Grade 2)】
・Thu, Feb 19 and Fri, Feb 20: Students will be dismissed after lunch following the 4th period (no afternoon classes).
・The “Sex Education Program” scheduled for Fri, Feb 20 (Periods 5–6 in the gymnasium) will be postponed.
・At this time, no temporary school closure measures (including class closure) will be implemented.
*If absences or other conditions change and measures need to be adjusted, we will notify families promptly via Mimamorume, etc.
In general, the longer people spend in the same space, the more opportunities there are for close contact, which can increase the risk of infection spreading.
Our school will continue to place the highest priority on students’ health and safety, and will respond carefully while consulting with the school physician.
