北棱中学校：合唱比赛、文化节、运动会的准备工作正式启动

北棱中学校迎来了一个行事满满的月份：10月15日、16日的合唱比赛与文化节，以及30日的运动会。学校的主要活动都集中在这一个月里，接下来直到正式登场，每一天都将过得充实而紧凑。

第6节课，三年级学生在体育馆进行了第一次年级练习。由于天公不作美，当天下起了雨，练习便安排在体育馆内进行。首先是广播体操。坚持练习了两年半，手臂和背部的伸展整齐有力，不愧是最高年级的同学们。舞台上，还有学生站在前面为大家示范动作。

一、二年级的同学们则在各自的教室和音乐室里，进行着文化节展示的制作和合唱比赛的歌唱练习等各项准备。有的班级把调查到的冲绳文化与方言整理成展板，有的在一个个小方格里细心涂色、完成作品，还有的手捧乐谱、一起合声练唱，每间教室都呈现出不同的风景。

虽然大家准备的内容各不相同，但在认真投入这一点上，没有哪个班级甘拜下风。同学们一边与伙伴相视而笑，一边专注于手中的作业和歌声，这样的身影令人印象深刻。

正值换季时节，希望大家在注意身体的同时，把每一天的积累化为正式登场时的精彩表现。北棱的同学们，加油！

Hokuryō Junior High School: Preparations Begin for the Choir Competition, Cultural Festival and Sports Day

A packed month has begun at Hokuryō Junior High School, with the Choir Competition and Cultural Festival on 15 and 16 October, followed by Sports Day on the 30th. With so many of the school's major events concentrated into a single month, the days leading up to them promise to be full and busy.

In the sixth period, Year 9 pupils held their first year-group rehearsal in the gymnasium, which was the venue of choice as it was raining. They began with radio exercises (rajio taisō), and after two and a half years of practice, their stretches were beautifully in sync — exactly what you would expect from the school's oldest year group. On stage, pupils also stepped forward to demonstrate the movements to everyone.

Meanwhile, Years 7 and 8 were busy in their classrooms and the music room, working on Cultural Festival displays and rehearsing for the Choir Competition. Some classes were putting together posters on Okinawan culture and dialect, others were carefully colouring in tiny squares one by one to complete a larger piece, and others still were practising together with scores in hand. Each classroom had its own distinctive scene.

Although the activities varied, no class fell short in commitment. Pupils shared smiles with their classmates while staying fully focused on their work and their singing, which was lovely to see.

As the seasons change, let's take care of our health and turn each day's effort into our best performance on the day. Go for it, Hokuryō!
