今天的午餐（日式咖喱盖饭）

今天的午餐是「日式咖喱盖饭」。

菜单如下： ・日式咖喱盖饭（米饭＋日式咖喱） ・甜醋拌秋葵 ・日本梨（罐头） ・牛奶

今天的主角，当然要数「料多丰富」的日式咖喱盖饭。 用鲣鱼花熬出高汤，加入生姜炒香猪肉，再把胡萝卜、洋葱和油豆腐慢慢炖煮入味。 最后撒上青葱，做成一道十分下饭的日式风味咖喱。

副菜「甜醋拌秋葵」带着清爽的酸味，正适合在用餐间隙换换口味。 甜点的日本梨甜味温和，也是饭后令人开心的一品。

这一天，三年二班的同学刚刚结束修学旅行回到学校。 「修学旅行时也吃到了很多美味佳肴，不过北稜中学的午餐也毫不逊色！」——孩子们说出了这样让人欣慰的话。 能让大家觉得「不输给旅途中的大餐」，对于用心做饭的人来说，正是最开心的事。

Today's School Lunch (Japanese-Style Curry Rice Bowl)

Today's lunch was a Japanese-style curry rice bowl (wafū curry don).

Here's the menu: ・Japanese-style curry rice bowl (rice topped with wafū curry) ・Okra in sweet vinegar dressing ・Canned Japanese pear (wa-nashi) ・Milk

The star of the day was, without a doubt, the hearty, ingredient-packed Japanese-style curry. The kitchen team made a dashi broth from bonito flakes, sautéed pork with fragrant ginger, and then slowly simmered carrots, onions, and thin fried tofu (abura-age) until everything was full of flavor. A finishing touch of green onion made it a comforting, rice-friendly curry with a distinctly Japanese taste.

The okra side dish had a light, refreshing tang—perfect for cleansing the palate between bites. The gentle sweetness of the Japanese pear made for a lovely way to round off the meal.

Class 3-2 had just returned from their school trip that very day. "We enjoyed plenty of wonderful food on the trip, but Hokuryo's school lunch holds its own!" was the reassuring comment we heard from the students. Knowing that our lunch can stand up to the feasts they enjoyed while traveling is the greatest reward for everyone who prepares it.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the kitchen staff at Nishisemba Elementary School, who prepare Hokuryo Junior High School's meals, and to the serving assistants who support lunchtime every single day.
